How to take the BRRR out of winter potty breaks!

Stay Warm this Winter, Porch Potty's Got This.

2020 is full of surprises, one being the earliest freeze warning in some North American regions on record. Which is a stark reminder that winter coats and potty breaks in freezing temperatures are here for some, and still yet to come for others.

We've all been there, it's cold, we're shivering, but an unenthusiastic Max wants to be finicky about where he does his business because he doesn't like the cold on his paws.

You're frustrated, he picks up on it and gets nervous, making it even harder for him to concentrate on the matter at hand.

Here's how to take the stress out of Winter potty breaks with your Porch Potty:

  1. If possible, move your Porch Potty closer to your patio door. That way, you don't even have to step outside if your space is enclosed. You can just keep an eye on Max from your nicely heated indoors!
  2. For Porch Potty Premiums, we do not recommend using the automated sprinklers, as this will cause moisture to collect, freeze and potentially damage your Porch Potty.
  3. Invest in a Porch Potty Cover. This will keep his designated potty area free of snow so you don't have to be detained if Max develops a snow aversion.
  4. For the particularly fussy dogs, you can move your Porch Potty Small indoors and convert to using a Catch Basin.
  5. TURFtastic will keep both an indoor or outdoor Porch Potty fresh and odor-free through the winter.
